"Insert" - "Insert virtual instrument" has worked as the simple correct setup for all the other VSTis. Well, I've done that, and still don't have sound. Read in forum today that right clicking the record button, and go to "output" then selecting "output (stereo)" is what you have to do. I've been perusing the NI manual for GR5, loading up different presets in GR5 (the CPU usage is the only thing active) but can't get sound through the synth. I've found out that you don't get it loaded through Kontakt 5 but through Guitar Rig 5, as a VST. However, Guitar Rig 5, it seems, is different. Insert virtual track, choose VSTi, and then record, use the midi editor, etc. I've been having pretty good success with using VSTis in Reaper, using a Roland keyboard controller to audition the sounds.
